I realized why I cried so hard when I hugged Mrs. Shipley at my senior walk. Mrs. Shipley was one of the teachers who I was able to talk to about anything with. She was the one teacher when I told her what my dream job was she was the one teacher who said “you can do whatever you want to meagan, nothing is unrealistic”. Then she proceeded to help me ways to get there. Mrs. Shipley talked to me as more than a student. She helped me get through other situations with great advice as well. On my senior walk when I hugged her, all those memories of her giving me advice rushed back and it made me sad how I never have gotten that kind of advice from an adult before which made it really hard to say goodbye. As I hugged her she told me “Remember Meagan you can do anything you want to do in life”. She stopped hugging me, looked me in the eye, and repeated herself. She wanted that to be embedded in my head. It is now. She truly makes me believe I can do anything I want. So this is it. My happily ever starts here.
